9.2.7. Replacement of epiploons

On automatic transmission there are three epiploons - an epiploon of the converter of rotation, an epiploon of a shaft of the lever of the selector and an epiploon of a secondary shaft of transmission - which can serves as the reason of leakage of liquid. If the epiploon of the converter of rotation proceeds, you will find liquid traces at the bottom of a transmission casing. If the epiploon of a shaft of the lever of the selector proceeds, liquid will be visible on a case of transmission and on the pallet. If the leak reason - an epiploon of a secondary shaft, liquid is found on a casing and on a forward part of the driveshaft.

It is fashionable to replace all these epiploons, without assorting transmission though replacement of an epiploon of the converter of rotation demands transmission and converter removal.

Epiploon of the converter of rotation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove transmission and the rotation converter (see. Section Removal and installation of automatic transmission).
  2. Examine the plug in a nave of the converter of rotation. If it is worn-out, the new epiploon again will start to proceed soon. Try to remove all sharp edges or agnails a small skin. If the nave is too damaged, that it could be ground, replace the rotation converter.
  1. By means of the special bent tool for removal of epiploons or a screw-driver remove an old epiploon from a transmission case.
  1. Try not to damage a surface of a nest of an epiploon, removing an old epiploon.
  2. Grease sponges of a new epiploon with fresh liquid and accurately establish it in a nest by means of a replaceable head or a piece of a pipe with external diameter a little smaller, than diameter of an epiploon.
  3. Establish the converter, having made sure that it completely incorporated to the forward pump (for this purpose turn the converter during its installation until it will not rise into place against the stop). Establish transmission/converter assembly (see. Section Removal and installation of automatic transmission).

Epiploon of a shaft of the lever of the selector of transmission

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To Poddomkratta the car and reliably establish it on axial support.
  2. Remove the lever of the selector of transmission from its shaft on lateral face of transmission (see an illustration). Do not disconnect a drive from the lever, differently it should be regulated again.
  3. Take an old epiploon the special tool or a small screw-driver. Try not to damage a surface of a nest of an epiploon thus.
  4. Grease sponges of a new epiploon with fresh liquid and accurately establish it in a nest by means of a replaceable head or a piece of a pipe with external diameter a little smaller, than diameter of an epiploon.
  5. Establish the lever of the selector and tighten a nut. If you did not disconnect a drive, there is need no it to regulate.

Epiploon of a secondary shaft

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To Poddomkratta a back of the car and reliably establish it on axial support. Do not forget to block forward wheels that the car did not roll down from support.
  2. Where it is necessary for providing a free access, remove system of production of the fulfilled gases (see. Head Power supply system).
  3. Remove the driveshaft (see. Head Coupling).
  1. Unbend a back part of a uvula of a lock level, fix a flange in an immovability and give a flange nut by means of a 30-millimerovy replaceable head.
  1. Take an old epiploon the special tool or a small screw-driver. Try not to damage a surface of a nest of an epiploon thus.
  2. Apply a thin film liquids on sponges of a new epiploon, then clear the end of a secondary shaft. Get an epiploon on a shaft and carefully establish it into place by means of a replaceable head or a piece of a pipe with external diameter a little smaller, than external diameter of an epiploon.
  3. Establish a flange. Cover with hermetic the party of the nut directed to a flange to prevent leaks. Tighten a flange nut with demanded effort. Establish a new lock level and bend a uvula in a cut.
  4. Other part of installation make as it should be, the return to removal.

Check level of transmission liquid and add it if it is necessary (Head Routine maintenance of the car).
