16.9. Removal and generator installation
Removal

- Disconnect a negative wire of the storage battery.
|
|
- Disconnect from the generator electric sockets, having remembered their arrangement. Depending on quantity of the equipment on the car it can sometimes appear simpler at first to remove the generator from arms, and then, having turned aside, to provide access to sockets (are shown by shooters), located on a back wall of the generator.

|
On some models for receiving access to the generator it can be demanded to remove an air purifier and a measuring instrument of a stream of air. |
- Weaken adjusting and fixing bolts of the generator and remove a driving belt (look Head Routine maintenance of the car).
- Remove adjusting and fixing bolts and separate the generator from the engine.

Installation
If generator replacement, that is made, getting new or restored, take with itself the former generator. Be convinced that the new generator is identical to the old. Pay attention to contacts - them should be as much, they should have the same sockets and an arrangement, as on the former generator. At last, pay attention to identification numbers - they штампованы on the case or are printed on a label fixed on the case. Be convinced that on both generators of number identical.
Many new generators are not completed with a pulley therefore it can be demanded to rearrange a pulley from the former generator on the new.
