2.1.3. Removal and installation of a cover of a head of cylinders

If the radio receiver of your car is equipped with system of protection against theft, make sure that you gathered the correct code before a battery detachment. |
Removal
|
|
- Disconnect a negative wire of the battery.
- Disconnect a hose сапуна from a cover of a head of cylinders.
- On M20 engines отболтите also remove a basic bracket of the inlet pipeline and if is available, a bracket for sensors of the engine or the idling stabilizer (it is probable, it is required to disconnect electric sockets of sensors and the stabilizer).
- On M30 engines disconnect the electric socket of a measuring instrument of an air stream. Remove clips from electroconducting and take her aside.
- Where it is necessary on M30 engines, disconnect hoses and shtutserny connections from a hose of an inlet air line, then release a clip and remove a hose from the butterfly valve case. Give nuts of fastening of a casing of an air purifier and remove a casing together with a hose and a measuring instrument of an air stream.
- Give fixing nuts and washers of a cover of a head of cylinders.

- Where it is necessary, disconnect a clip or a cover of a wire of a spark plug from the screw of adjustment of a gap and put it aside. Usually there is no need of a detachment of wires of spark plugs.
- Uncover heads of cylinders and laying. Throw out old laying. On M40 engines also uncover a cam-shaft.

- Uncover heads of cylinders the M40 engine.
|
|
|
- Uncover a cam-shaft the M40 engine.
|
|
|
- Remove laying of a cover of a head of cylinders from the M40 engine.
|
- If it is provided, remove semicircular consolidation from the valve on a forward part of a head of cylinders.
|
|
Installation
|
|
- Using a scraper, remove all traces of a material of old laying from surfaces of a cover and a head of cylinders.
|
|
Be extremely careful not to damage soft aluminum surfaces. On sale are available, and there can be useful, special solvents for removal of laying. After the material of laying is completely removed, surfaces of laying can be cleared of greasing by means of a rag moistened in suitable solvent. |
- If it is provided, establish semicircular consolidation on the valve in a forward part of a head of cylinders, then put special RTV hermetic for laying on connections between consolidation and the corresponding surface of laying of a cover of a head of cylinders.

After drawing of hermetic it is necessary to establish a cover of a head of cylinders and to tighten nuts within no more than ten minutes. |
- Establish a cam-shaft cover (M40 engines), a cover of a head of cylinders and new laying. Get washers and nuts; reliably and exactly tighten nuts. Do not draw them - they should be tightened so to prevent leakage of oil through laying, but is not excessive not to deform a cover.
- Other part of procedure of installation corresponds to removal upside-down.
