2.1.8. Removal and installation of covers of a distributive belt

This procedure belongs only to engines M20 and М40. |
|
|
If the radio receiver of your car is equipped with system of protection against theft, make sure that you gathered the correct code before a battery detachment. |
|
|
- Disconnect a negative wire of the battery.
- Remove the coupling of a drive and a fan casing (see. Head cooling System).
- On the M20 engine remove a radiator (see. Head cooling System).
- Remove a pulley of a driving belt of the fan.
- Disconnect conducting of the sensor of a standard if it is provided which passes through a forward part of a cover of a distributive belt, and take him aside.

- If the cover of the distributor of ignition is established directly on the top cover of a distributive belt, uncover the distributor, a begunok and the black plastic cover located under a begunok.
|
- Remove a pulley of a driving belt and a damper of the bottom fan. Hold the central bolt of a pulley of the crankshaft during weakening of bolts of an external pulley/damper.
|
|
- Give bolts/nut of fastening of covers of a distributive belt to the engine.
|
- Remove at first the top cover, then bottom.
|
|
On the top cover there are two plugs for combination of provisions of the top bolt. At assembly make sure that they on a place. |

Installation make upside-down. Reliably tighten bolts of covers.
