2.1.5. Removal and installation of a final collector

Before the work beginning with system of production of the fulfilled gases make sure that the engine completely cooled down.


If the radio receiver of your car is equipped with system of protection against theft, make sure that you gathered the correct code before a battery detachment.


If after connection of the battery of an inscription on an instrument guard appeared not in that language, address to the Section System of protection of an audiosystem from theft and language of an instrument guard where procedure of installation of the necessary language is described.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire of the battery.
  2. On models where the air purifier is from the same party of the engine, as a final collector, remove assembly of a casing of an air purifier and/or a measuring instrument of an air stream to provide enough place for work (see. Head Power supply system, if necessary).

For convenience of work take also the tank of a washer of a windscreen from the right part of an impellent compartment.

  1. Disconnect VV of a wire and clean aside conducting of spark plugs (see. Head Routine maintenance of the car).
  2. Mark and then disconnect all wires, hoses, shtutserny connections, etc. which disturb work. Do not forget to disconnect the oxygen sensor where it is provided.
  1. To Poddomkratta the car and reliably establish it on axial support. Working under the car, disconnect a reception pipe from a collector. For simplification of work use getting oil for fixture greasing.
  1. Clean axial support and lower the car. Moving from the collector ends to its center, release gradually fixing nuts so that they could be removed. Here getting oil again can help.
  1. Pull together a collector from a head, then remove old laying.

Be extremely careful not to damage the oxygen sensor where it is provided.


 
 
  1. Clear surfaces of interface of a head and a collector and make sure that the carving on screws of adjustment of gaps of valves of a final collector is not damaged.
  2. Check, whether there is no corrosion, deformations, cracks or other damages of a collector. If necessary repair or replace a collector.
  3. At installation of a collector use new laying. Tighten nuts of fastening of a collector to a head gradually, beginning from the center and moving ahead to edges, achieving demanded effort. Tighten also nuts of fastening of a reception pipe to a collector.
  4. The rest of procedure of installation make as it should be, the return to removal.
