2.1.12. Removal and installation of the pallet of a case

|
- Merge impellent oil (see. Head Routine maintenance of the car).
- To Poddomkratta a front of the car and reliably establish it on axial support.
- Remove mudguards from under the engine.
|
|
- Disconnect the hoses attached to the pallet where they are provided, and take them aside to provide access to pallet bolts.
|
|
|
- Disconnect the electric socket of the sensor of level of oil to the left of the engine, near a fixing bracket of the steering pump where that is provided.
|
|
|
- Give four bolts of a cover (are specified by shooters) and...
|
|
|
... remove the cast aluminum cover closing a back part of the pallet if it is provided.
|
|
|
- On models with M40 engines отболтите also remove the lower part of the pallet and remove laying (it is necessary for ensuring access to forward fixing bolts).
|
|
|
- Give a fixing bolt and pull out a tube of a measuring instrument of level of oil from the pallet.
|
- Check a condition of a sealing ring and if necessary replace it.
- On models with the M40 engine give nuts of fastening of the engine from both parties. Then establish the suitable winch and raise the engine so that it was possible to remove the pallet. For reasons of safety place under the engine axial support or wooden whetstones.

|
- Give bolts of fastening of the pallet to the block of cylinders and forward/back to covers. On a photo it is shown for the six-cylinder engine.
|
- To Obstuchita the pallet a hammer with soft brisk to break laying hermetic, and remove the pallet from the engine.
- By means of a special scraper scratch out all traces of a material of old laying from the block of cylinders, covers of a distributive chain, a casing of the main back epiploon and from the pallet. Be especially careful not to scratch sealing surfaces of laying of a cover of a distributive chain and an epiploon casing (they are made of aluminum therefore are quite soft).
- Clear the pallet by means of solvent and properly dry up it. Check sealing surfaces of laying on existence of deformations. Remove all remains of dirt with interfaced to the pallet and the engine of surfaces of laying by a rag moistened in suitable solvent.
- Before installation of the pallet put a little RTV hermetic on surfaces of interface of forward and back covers with the block of cylinders. Establish new laying of the pallet on the block. If necessary put a little more hermetic to hold laying on a place.
- Carefully establish the pallet on a place (trying not to displace laying) and get bolts. Tighten bolts with demanded effort serially, since the bolts closest to the center of the pallet, and moving on diagonals. Do not draw them since it can cause leakages of oil.
- The rest of procedure of installation carry out as it should be, the return to removal. Establish new laying on the lower part of the pallet on models with M40 engines.
- In summary fill in in the engine fresh oil (Head Routine maintenance of the car). Start the engine and check, whether there are no leaks through laying of the pallet or other components.
