5.5. Removal and installation of the distributor of ignition

TCI system

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect after careful marking from a cover of the distributor of ignition high-voltage wires of the coil of ignition and spark plugs (look Head Routine maintenance of the car).
  2. Remove a spark plug No. 1 (the next to an engine front).
  3. Manually turn the engine to the Top Dead Point (VMT) of a step of compression of the piston No. 1 (look the Part the Repair work which is carried out without extraction of the engine from the car).
  4. Attentively note vacuum hoses if more than one approaches to the distributor of their ignition.
  5. Disconnect vacuum hoses.
  6. Disconnect from the distributor of a wire of primary chain of ignition.
  1. Note situation a begunka in relation to the case of the distributor of ignition (it is shown by an arrow). Also note position of the case of the distributor of ignition concerning the engine.
  1. Remove a fixing nut or a bolt and a bracket.
  2. Remove the ignition distributor.

Do not turn the engine at the removed distributor of ignition.

Installation

Before installation of the distributor of ignition be convinced that the piston No. 1 still is in VMT of a step of compression.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Insert into the engine the ignition distributor, having placed an adjusting bracket over a fixing opening. Do not interfere at installation of the distributor of ignition with turn of an axis of the distributor.
  2. Establish a fixing nut or a bolt. Before a tightening of a nut or a bolt it is necessary to combine the labels previously put on the case of the distributor, a begunok and the engine.
  3. Establish a cover of the distributor of ignition.
  4. Attach to the wire distributor.
  5. Attach high-voltage wires of spark plugs.
  6. Attach according to marking vacuum hoses.
  7. Check the ignition moment (look the Section Check of functioning and moment adjustment ignitions (TCI system)).

Motronic system

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove a cover of the distributor of ignition and uncover the distributor (look Head Routine maintenance of the car).
  1. Small prutkovy key unscrew three screws a begunka.
  1. Remove a begunok.

Installation

Installation is return to removal.
