4.9. Check, adjustment and replacement of a cable of an accelerator

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect from the throttle case an inlet air line (models with fuel injection) or remove an air purifier (carburetor models).
  2. Watch opening of the valve of a throttle when the assistant presses against the stop an accelerator pedal. It should open completely.
  3. Release a pedal of an accelerator and be convinced that the throttle valve smoothly returned to a closed position. At the movement the throttle valve never should concern the case; if concerns, it is necessary to replace knot.

Adjustment

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Warm up the engine to normal working temperature, then muffle it. Press two times against the stop an accelerator pedal, then check a free wheeling of a cable on the throttle carburetor/case. Compare it to value in the Size table and adjusting data at the end of the Management.
  1. If the free wheeling of a throttle differs from demanded, adjust it rotation of an adjusting nut And, holding a nut In (the engine with fuel injection is shown).
  1. With participation of the assistant check, that by full pressing of a pedal of an accelerator the throttle valve completely opened.

Replacement

In the following paragraphs procedure for engines with fuel injection is described, procedure for carburetor engines - is similar.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire of the storage battery.

If the radio receiver on your car is equipped with system of protection against abduction, before shutdown of the battery be convinced that the correct code of activization is known. Before a detachment of a wire address to the Section System of protection of an audiosystem from theft and language of an instrument guard.


If after battery connection on the display of the dashboard there is a message in other language, for procedure of installation of language address to the Section System of protection of an audiosystem from theft and language of an instrument guard.


  1. Weaken lock nuts of a regulator of a cable push behind the rubber plug and disconnect a cable from an arm located on the inlet pipeline.
  1. Flat-nose pliers compress the plastic holder and вытолкните it from an arm.
  1. Turn the valve of a throttle and unhook the cable end from cut in the valve lever.
  1. After cable extraction from knot of the valve of a throttle remove from a cable the plastic holder.
  1. Working under the dashboard at a place of the driver, disconnect an accelerator cable from the top part of a pedal.
  2. Drag a cable via the forward panel in salon.
  3. Installation is return to removal. Adjust a cable as it is described above.
