4.8. Removal and air purifier installation Disconnect a negative wire of the storage battery.
Carburetor engines

- Unhook spring clips, then unscrew the central nut and uncover.
|
|
|
- Take filtering element and wipe the case of an air purifier and a cover.
|
|
|
- For case removal first of all disconnect an inlet air line (1) and a hose of warmed-up air (2).
|
- Disconnect on the carburetor the vacuum line.
|
|
- Unscrew four nuts of fastening of an air purifier to the carburetor and remove a metal ring.
|
|
|
- Unscrew a nut of an arm of fastening of an air purifier (it is shown by an arrow).
|
|
|
- Remove an air purifier from the carburetor and disconnect a hose of ventilation of a case.
|
- If necessary pick up at the bottom of an air purifier a sealing ring.
|
|
- Installation is return to removal, however, combine an arrow on a cover with an arrow on an inlet air line.

|
|
Engines with fuel injection
|
|
- Disconnect from a forward part of an air purifier an inlet air line.
- Disconnect an air line between an air purifier and the throttle case.
- Remove the air filter (look Head Routine maintenance of the car).
- Disconnect from a measuring instrument of an air stream the electric socket (look the Section Cleaning and carburetor adjustment).

- Remove two nuts (fastenings of an air purifier are shown by shooters) and take an air purifier from an impellent compartment (is shown the Motronic system).
|
- Installation is return to removal. Be convinced that air lines are reliably fixed, differently there can be a leakage of air.
