4.12. Cleaning and carburetor adjustment

|
In this section procedure for the carburetor 2В4 is described. Procedure for the carburetor 2 - is similar. |
Cleaning
|
|
- Get for the carburetor a full set of laying and epiploons.
- Wash up external surfaces of the carburetor.
|
|
- By means of a screw-driver unhook from the lever of a throttle of the primary chamber draft of the accelerating pump (it is shown by an arrow).
|
|
|
- Unscrew bolts of fastening of a cover to the main case. The otvorachivaniye of the central bolt will need a prutkovy key.
|
|
|
- Unhook from the plastic lever of an air zaslonka draft (it is shown by an arrow).
|
|
|
- Disconnect from the main case a cover and remove laying.
|

- Unscrew the screw of fastening of an arm of a drive of a throttle to the throttle case. (it is shown by an arrow).
|
|
|
- Disconnect from the lever of a throttle of the secondary chamber a rod of a vacuum drive.
|
|
|
- Unscrew screws of fastening of the case of a throttle to the main case.
|
|
|
- Unhook intermediate draft of a throttle. If it appears inconvenient, unscrew a nut and disconnect from an axis of a throttle of the primary chamber the lever, having taken measures not to damage a returnable spring.
|
- Disconnect from the main case the case of a throttle and remove laying.
|
|
The bottom view on the main case without the throttle case - pay attention to laying:
|
|
|
- Having overturned a cover, вытолкните axes of floats, remove floats...
|
|
|
... also take needle valves - keep them according to an arrangement.
|
|
|
- Turn out from the secondary poplavkovy chamber a fuel jet of direct giving.
|
|
|
... then similarly turn out jets from a cover - keep them according to an arrangement.
|
|

- Clear all components and blow air of low pressure internal channels.
- Assembly is return to dismantling, however, pay attention to the next moments:
- Establish new laying and epiploons from a repair set.
|
|
- Before cover installation, check, that draft of an air zaslonka was correctly connected to the lever.
|
|
|
- Check and if necessary adjust installations of floats. Overturn a cover and check distance from a being interfaced surface (without laying) to float top, having convinced that the podpruzhinenny ball of the needle valve is not pressed. Pay attention that this distance not identical to primary and secondary floats (look the Size table and adjusting data at the end of the Management). If adjustment is required, bend the float lever as it is required.

- Be convinced that in the top part of the accelerating pump the epiploon is established.
|
|
|
Adjustment
Automatic air zaslonka (2В4)
|
|
- Check, that labels of combination of the case and a cover of an automatic air zaslonka are well distinguishable; if is not present, put new labels.
|
|
- Unscrew three screws and take a metal ring.
|
|
|
- Remove a plastic ring, at the same time disconnecting from a control lever a bimetallic spring.
|
|
|
- Fasten to the lower part of a control lever a rubber tape (2). Press the lever to the right and a drill in diameter of 4.2 mm (1) check distance between bottom edge of an air zaslonka and a carburetor wall. For lever moving periodically influence a vacuum drive a razryazheniye.
|
|
|
- If adjustment is necessary, rotate it is shown by an arrow) on the end of a vacuum drive.
|
- Upside-down establish a cover, having convinced that labels are combined.
|
|
Throttle drive (2В4)
|
|
- At being in the provision of idling a throttle check, that the length of a spring made 23.0 ±1.0 mm. If differently, adjust a nut.
- When the razryazheniye is absent (the engine does not work), check, that the course of the lever measured between the lock screw and the lever, made 5.0 ±0.5 mm. If necessary weaken a lock nut and rotate a diaphragm rod. After adjustment tighten a lock nut.

Throttle drive (2)
For difficult adjustment of the carburetor 2 special tools are required. Therefore it is necessary to charge such work to the dealer of BMW.
