16.18. Removal and installation of the lock of ignition

Some of latest models are equipped with a pneumopillow, or Auxiliary System of Safety (SRS). To avoid possible damages of this system, the producer recommends for models with a pneumopillow to provide the procedure of competence of dealer office of service described below or a repair truck since she demands use of the special equipment and technologies. There is also a danger of traumas in case the mechanism of a pneumosafety cushion casually works.


If the radio receiver on your car is equipped with system of protection against theft, make sure that you gathered the correct code before disconnecting a battery wire. Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire of the battery.
  2. Remove a steering wheel (see. Head Steering).
  3. Remove casings of a steering column (see. Head Body).
  4. Where it is necessary, remove the switch of indexes of turn / head headlights (see. The section Removal and installation of switches on a steering column).
  1. Release clips, having inserted a small screw-driver into cavities from both parties of the lock of ignition during lock extraction.
  1. Disconnect conducting of the lock of ignition from the socket in the basis of a steering column and remove the lock.
