17.28. Check of a condition and replacement of brushes of screen wipers Annually or each 20 000 km of run
On brushes of screen wipers the road film over time collects, reducing efficiency of their work therefore brushes should be washed out regularly in soft cleaning solution.
Check
Assemblies of screen wipers with brushes should look round regularly. If survey revealed existence of hardenings or cracks on rubber of brushes, replace brushes. If at survey it is not revealed anything unusual, wet a windscreen, include screen wipers, let's to them work a little and switch off them. A non-uniform trace from brushes on glass or strips on pure glass specify that it is necessary to replace brushes.

Replacement of brushes of screen wipers

- Delay screen wiper assembly with a brush from glass.
|
|
- Press a fixing uvula inside and remove brush assembly from the screen wiper lever.
|
|
|
- If you want to replace only rubber of brushes, disconnect the brush end from a brush frame, then pull out a brush from a frame.
|
- Compare a new brush with old on length, design etc.
- Establish a new brush into place, then insert its end into a brush frame to fix it.
- Establish brush assembly on the lever, then moisten glass and check screen wiper work.
